Resident training in Surgery/Podiatric Medicine with either a completed fellowship or board certification from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery



Required License/Registration/Certification

Active, current license to practice in Kentucky Board Certified or Eligible in Podiatric Medicine



Job Summary

This position is needed in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery to achieve the goals of the Department and the mission of the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine. The primary responsibilities of the person are to provide care and to teach students and residents (as applicable) in the optimal management of patients needing podiatric services, in the treatment of patients with podiatric needs, and in the management of patients who benefit from podiatric services and surgery


Specific responsibilities include:
  • Supervise medical students assigned to the Orthopaedic Surgical Services as specified by the Department Chair
  • Supervise and educate residents in the care of patients with foot and ankle disorders and other issues related to podiatry
  • Serve as an attending and teaching physician on the Orthopaedic Surgery Service
  • Serve on appropriate University Hospital and College of Medicine committees as assigned
  • Support the research mission of the department
