Summary/Objective:
The Assistant Manager, Events will serve as the on-site logistics and hospitality lead for private events, including screenings, receptions, conferences, multi-day programs, and film/television shoots at the Academy Campuses in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. The position requires a solutions-oriented, highly organized, production-minded leader who has experience collaborating with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment. This is a client-facing role primarily for evening and weekend events with some early morning and late-night shifts required.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Serve as on-site manager for events, screenings, receptions, and activations at Academy venues during evenings and weekends.
  • Write, edit, and submit work orders based on event schedules and layouts. Review and absorb contracts, proposals, and production documents for full project scope; make edits and recommendations as needed.
  • Coordinate with operating teams (e.g., Campus Operations/Facilities, Catering, Engineering, I.T., Security, Theater Operations, Visitor Services) to execute work orders and event requirements in accordance with agreements.
  • Attend site visits, production calls, and post-mortems as scheduled.
  • Collaborate with clients, staff, and vendors to pivot and problem solve in real time based on schedule changes and additions.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.
  • Support internal events and programs as needed.

Required Competencies:
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in events, production, hospitality and/or operations required.
  • A reliable form of transportation is required.
  • Evening and weekend availability is required.
  • Friendly, collaborative, and solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams), Airtable, and Google Products.
  • Familiarity with layout/seating programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or professional certification in hospitality or event management a plus.
  • Supervisory and/or client service experience a plus.

Physical Demands:
  • Working on site/floor management required during events (including installation and strike hours) and site inspections as scheduled.
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs.

Compensation: The expected base hourly rate for this role is $34.00 - $38.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
