Job Summary

Owensboro Community and Technical College is seeking applicants for a full-time, twelve-month College Counselor within our Student Affairs Department. This position provides counseling, career guidance, advisement, and registration services to a diverse community and technical college student population, including students on academic probation.

Job Duties:

• Provide students with non-clinical counseling, career guidance, advisement, registration services, and assistance with college resources and services.
• Assist the Associate Dean of Student Affairs in identifying accommodations as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Provide crisis intervention and support, including assessing any potential threats a student may present to him/herself or others.
• Facilitate programming to promote the development and success of all students.
• Participate in student recruiting activities and retention efforts.
• Participate in college activities and committees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and four (4) years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in counseling or related field with six (6) years’ relevant work experience is preferred
