Physical Requirements
This position will require the ability to sit for extended periods of time utilizing a computer, keyboard, mouse, and phone. Will also require the ability to travel to meetings and events on- and off-campus.
Shift
Primarily Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends per departmental needs.
Job Summary
The UK College of Medicine is seeking goal-oriented and mission-driven philanthropy professionals to serve as Associate Director of Philanthropy. This position will be responsible for engaging, cultivating, soliciting and renewing gifts from individual donors and alumni of the college. The incumbent will develop a portfolio from alumni, community members, families and friends with an affinity for medical education and scholarships. This position will reach out to prospects, secure face-to-face visits, engage them in the vital mission, solicit and close gifts focused at the leadership annual level. This role will be held to metrics of number of visits, progress developing and qualifying prospects in the Associate Director’s portfolio, proposals submitted and dollars raised. The successful candidate should be someone who is a self-starter with skills in oral and written communication. The candidate should have 2-4 years of experience in philanthropy or a related field, such as marketing, wealth management or sales and have a passion for funding this critical mission.
