This 3D CORE ENGINEER position will be in Morristown, TN Plant and will be responsible for ongoing development and implementation of the 3D core process, with focus on additive manufacturing aspects of the process as well as process control.  The individual will work independently as well as part of larger New Product Introduction teams.  This position will collaborate with Howmet Morristown production operations regarding 3D core process development and implementations to enhance production manufacturing readiness levels and to help create best practices/standards.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. 
  • A minimum of 2 years working in an additive manufacturing or process control environment.
  • Experience with 3D printing of polymers
  • Experience with statistical analyses and process control plans
  • Ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD models
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution in the following disciplines preferred: Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineer, or Material Science.
  • Fluency with CAD software, preferably with Siemens NX. 
  • Experience in additive manufacturing of resins in a production environment.
  • Experience in new process control development and product start ups
  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Plastic injection molding experience
  • Experience with developing and applying new manufacturing processing and/or inspection methods
  • Project management experience
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills using sound fundamentals as well as history of trials/execution of improvements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to effectively work/communicate as part of a project team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and activities.
