The Team

Fidelity Wealth’s Trade Management Engineering group is responsible for building world-class electronic trading solutions for Fidelity’s Capital Markets division. We are a high-performing, fast-paced technology team working with ground breaking tools to deliver low-latency, high-throughput trading platforms. Our work spans across internal and external teams to build flawless, end-to-end electronic trading workflows.

The Role

We are seeking an expert software engineer to help with the design and development of next-generation trading systems. This is a hands-on role passionate about building scalable, resilient, and high-performance trading infrastructure. You’ll collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and drive innovation in a critical environment.

  • Develop distributed, event-driven trading systems optimized for low latency and high throughput
  • Develop and implement asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver robust, end-to-end trading workflows
  • Work on performance tuning and optimization efforts across the platform
  • Adhere to engineering standard methodologies
  • Support production and non-production environments, including participation in a weekly on-call rotation

The Expertise You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of hands-on software design and development experience in Full Stack Developer capacity
  • You are a strong C# /.NET developer and experience working with client-server desktop and web applications
  • Experienced in WinForms, WPF and WCF
  • You are experienced in using third party components like ComponentOne and DevExpress
  • Experienced in Java technologies is a plus
  • Knowledge or experience in KDB+ or other time-series databases.
  • Familiar with Linux environments and Unix shell scripting
  • Advanced knowledge of low latency design patterns and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Capital Markets or Brokerage systems, especially order management
  • Solid understanding of the FIX protocol and FIX engines.
  • Familiarity withAI developer assist tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy
  • Hands-on experience deploying applications to AWS or other cloud platforms

Dynamic Working

Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Working onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of every other week in a Fidelity office.

The base salary range for this position is $60/hr - $90/hr.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
