Physical Requirements
While we offer some hybrid schedule flexibility, student must be available to work in our Lexington office location.

Job Summary
The Communications & Contract Management Intern is a paid position that will report to the Executive Director and Senior Communications Coordinator and will assist with various projects related to KY APEX Accelerator’s website and social media, internal and external communications, marketing materials, accounting/financial processes, metrics reporting requirements, and contract management duties.
Typical responsibilities include:
• Assist with creating and developing printed and digital marketing materials, including brochures, flyers and other materials.
• Help maintain KY APEX Accelerator’s website in Wix, including updating content, creating new pages and maintaining our training events calendar.
• Support the Senior Communications Coordinator in creating and executing social media content, including individual posts and larger campaigns.
• Communicate with fellow team members and external stakeholders by phone and email.
• Represent KY APEX Accelerator at networking events in the greater Lexington area.
• Assist with data management and reporting in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Post government contract opportunities for clients on our bid notice center platform.
• Perform bookkeeping tasks, such as invoicing, paying bills, filing reimbursement forms, maintaining record expenses in Excel, and tracking receipts.
• Create a bid in response to a request for a proposal.
• Review contracts and suggest edits or revisions to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
• Coordinate contract execution by ensuring all necessary parties sign and copies are distributed to relevant parties.
• Track contract milestones in Excel, including subcontract data, POs, RFP numbers, and dates from start to completion to ensure critical dates are noticed.
• Maintaining a digital filing system for electronic contracts ensures easy access and retrieval.
• Coordinate with the finance team to ensure payment is received for completed work and process payment approvals.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
• Preferred: Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) like Wix.
• Preferred: Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
• Preferred: Familiarity with graphic design, experience using Canva and/or Adobe programs.
