What You Will Do
- Position performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor in connection with grounds maintenance or construction.
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or combination totaling six (6) months from the categories below:
a. Coursework or vocational training in horticulture, landscaping, or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: Fifteen (15) semester hours equals six (6) months.
b. Work experience in grounds maintenance, landscape maintenance, nursery, agriculture work, grounds construction, and/or tending to lawns, turfs, trees, flowers, bushes or other shrubberies, ornamental plants, and other grounds-related work.
3. Valid/current CDL drivers license as required by the State of Illinois for the type of motor vehicles(s) to be operated by the incumbent. Upon hire, CDL must be obtained and maintained.

Illinois Residency Requirement : Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
