POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fulfillment and Kitting Lead is responsible for overseeing kitting and fulfillment operations to ensure the accurate assembly, packaging, and shipment of orders. This role focuses on leading day-to-day fulfillment activities, maintaining quality standards, managing team performance, and supporting process improvement initiatives. The lead collaborates with the Warehouse Manager to execute operational goals and drive customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Lead kitting operations, ensuring accurate assembly and packaging according to customer requirements.
  • Oversee order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and preparing shipments for delivery.
  • Ensure specialty labels, packing slips, and customer-specific instructions are followed precisely.
  • Monitor daily order volumes and prioritize tasks to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitting and fulfillment team members to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Assign tasks and monitor team productivity, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Maintain positive communication within the team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure kitting and fulfillment accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve errors or issues in kitting and shipping processes.
  • Uphold company standards for product presentation and packaging.
  • Analyze kitting and fulfillment workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Propose and implement process changes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to kitting and fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure sufficient materials for kitting projects.
  • Track usage of kitting supplies and reorder materials as needed to avoid shortages.
  • Report inventory discrepancies to the appropriate team for resolution.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to align kitting and fulfillment activities with overall warehouse operations.
  • Communicate effectively with Customer Service to address shipment inquiries or resolve order issues.
  • Collaborate with the Safety and Quality teams to maintain compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Maintain documentation of kitting projects, including timelines, order accuracy, and team performance.
  • Generate and distribute daily production and shipping reports.
  • Support year-end physical inventory processes by contributing kitting-specific insights.
  • Ability to train employees on powered industrial trucks (ie: stand up, sit down forklift, pallets jack, cherry picker)
  • Flexibility to perform other job duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Education: High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree in operations, logistics, or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a fulfillment, kitting or warehouse role, with at least 1 year in a lead capacity.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Dependable and self-motivated with ability to work independently with periodic consultation/direction.
  • Must possess good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including written and oral communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of truck lines, transportation regulations, material handling, warehousing and shipping principles.
  • Strong math skills as well as problem solving skills and ability to seek solutions which are not readily apparent to ensure reliable execution.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and skill levels.
  • Punctuality and accuracy in execution of transactions, data maintenance and other job responsibilities
  • Ability to analyze and monitor data in information systems (e.g., AX, SAP, MAS 500) to identify schedule/material discrepancies, inventory errors and other issues.
  • General understanding of inventory management principles (safety stock, JIT, FIFO/FEFO, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Possess a positive work attitude and a willingness to carry out instructions
  • Ability to express and share knowledge and ideas in a team environment
  • Ability to drive a forklift/stock picker.
  • Ability to work varied hours.


Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.

Must maintain a current forklift certification.
