Position Summary: The Manager, Materials Planningis responsible for material planning support of site operations. This Manager will align material planning and procurement aligns with clinical and commercial product supply needs and ensure materials availability will meet production scheduling requirements. The Manager will also be responsible for overseeing a staff of material planners for the coordination and execution of materials planning and analysis activities including: creating and updating material planning master data, sourcing materials, managing critical vendor relationships, cycle time and inventory monitoring, and the creation and distribution of site metrics analysis and reports. This individual will also be responsible foracquiring a thorough knowledge base related to corporate manufacturing planning operations, policies, and procedures to ensure appropriate alignment is achieved. Principal Responsibilities:
  • Engages with supply chain and Seagen Global Manufacturing leadership and Production Scheduling for site supply planning to support clinical and commercial product demand assigned to North Creek Manufacturing Facility
  • Manages cross-functional creation and maintenance of manufacturing bill of material
  • Oversee the sourcing of new materials and facilitating completion of new materials process by interfacing with Quality to ensure approval of material and supplier
  • Responsible for ensuring material and process master data development, maintenance, and analysis, including MRP parameters, purchasing info records, bills of material and production recipes
  • Manages and actively plans, orders, and continuously monitors inventory position for all materials and operating supplies supporting production activities
  • Coordinates with MSAT, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve material issues (e.g., expedite, shortage, defect, etc.) and escalates potential material shortages before they affect production
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing and Materials Management departments to ensure timely release and completion of production orders and transfer of required materials
  • Provides North Creek site leadership team with potential materials planning issues that may negatively impact production schedule
  • Provide Finance department with relevant information on materials and process operations
  • Ensures coordination with site Quality for all supply chain related change control activities
  • Develops and maintains site standard operating procedures and metrics related to supply chain activities
  • Participates on special projects (e.g., ERP/MES enhancement, data transformation, etc.) and fosters a continuous improvement culture to positively impact key performance metrics such as supplier quality, delivery, lead-time, and purchase price
  • Manages staff by arranging work assignments and required support to meet schedules, setting department objectives, completing performance reviews, and providing appropriate training and career growth
  • Work with other internal manufacturing sites on best practices for material planning
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain or Materials Management preferred
  • Eight plus (8+) total years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation, with five plus (5+) years of experience within Production Planning/Scheduling, Materials Analysis, and Inventory Control
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaboration/teamwork, and adaptive and negotiation skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and MSProject
  • Experience working with an enterprise level planning system (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of GMP regulations is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • APICS certification and LEAN/Sigma training is preferred

Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire and an annual bonus. Seagen is an equal opportunity employer.
