Job Description 


The PT Online Instructional Tech I provides a robust and reliable learning environment for online instruction. He or She provide critical and non-critical training and support for currently supported, evolving, and emerging online learning technologies.


  • Perform just in time training and support utilizing live chat and ticket-based inquiries, as well as phone and in person meetings
  • Keep faculty and students abreast of best practices and emerging technology including the update or production of training documentation, as well as in person and virtual training
  • Implement, test, and maintain high quality online technologies utilizing project management, knowledge management, and industry standard best practices
  • Consult with faculty to recommend and implement online tools in their courses and update course design using current best practices
  • Stay abreast of emerging online technologies and trends
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.


  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Specialization in technical area as required

Hourly Pay Rate is $25.32
