Physical Requirements

This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.



Shift

Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and/or during clinic operating hours.



Job Summary

UK HealthCare is seeking a highly-motivated pharmacist for a clinical pharmacist position with a focus in advanced heart failure at UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky. This clinical pharmacist position will provide comprehensive pharmacy services to adult advanced heart failure and heart transplant patients in the acute and ambulatory clinic settings. Services include participating in multidisciplinary care, medication management and monitoring, clinical interventions, research, teaching and precepting, and participation in Medical Center Committees. The pharmacist makes clinical interventions in terms of patient education, clinical pharmacokinetic/anti-coagulation monitoring, drug information, cost-effective care analysis, direct patient care through interdisciplinary rounds/clinic, and interacting with pharmacy residents and students. Ambulatory clinics include heart failure, VAD and cardiac transplant multidisciplinary clinics. The ideal candidate will have graduated from an ACPE-accredited school/college of pharmacy, completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency (or equivalent experience) at a minimum and must be eligible for licensure in Kentucky. PGY2 in cardiology and/or board certification in cardiology (or board eligibility) is preferred.

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum salary for this position will now be $104,697/year. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.
