Job Summary

The Park research grouphas an opening for a postdoctoral research fellow within the College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.



We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative candidates. We employ both basic sciences and engineering approaches to modulate inflammatory responses after neural trauma. Currently NIH-funded projects for postdoctoral researchers focused on the Reprogramming Neuroimmune Responses after Spinal Cord Injury.



The prospective candidates will be expected to contribute to our research program where they will have opportunities to pursue technical developments in tissue engineering, biomaterials, neural engineering, gene therapy and nanotechnology for the tissue regeneration after neurotrauma, and conduct preclinical and translational research.



Experience with mouse or rat work is highly desired such as microsurgery (rodent spinal cord injury model), tissue harvesting, and behavioral tests. Previous experience in neuroscience, biochemical assays, microscopy, cell culture, nanoparticle, biomaterials, immunohistochemistry and/or related areas would be beneficial (scRNA-seq, immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, etc.).



This position would be available immediately. We have access to core facilities and staffs in College of Pharmacy, Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center, and across the UK campus with expertise in animal behavior assays, CNS trauma surgery, viral vector production, imaging, genomics, and biochemical assays.
