POSITION SUMMARY:

The purchasing assistant is responsible for providing support, backup and assistance to the purchasing department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Confirm purchase order receipt and PO details received from vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing inventory through existing vendors, and create purchase orders.
  • Maintain up-to-date cost files in ERP System (AX)
  • Maintain files and records of material, quotes/prices, inventories, vendors and deliveries.
  • Ensure all data is accurate and up to date
  • Use ERP system to view material movements, quantities on order, and current balance on hand
  • Assist with providing continuous (daily) feedback to manufacturing/production leaders and planner in regards to future needs or back order issues
  • Communicate and execute all needed PO changes
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
  • Work under general supervision


JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.



Experience: Some exposure and experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Basic computer knowledge. Proficient in data entry. Excel experience required.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, most notably Excel, as well as internet usage, business websites and an ERP system (AX preferred).
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles
  • Knowledge of production scheduling principles
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail ability
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and skill levels
  • Working knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Possess a positive work attitude and a willingness to carry out instructions
  • Ability to work independently with periodic consultation and direction
  • Ability to express and share knowledge and ideas in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effectively interact with internal and external customers, establishing and maintaining productive relationships while representing the mission of Envision.
