Job Summary
As a STEPS Assistant Distiller, you will work closely with our experienced distillers and production team to learn the intricacies of the distillation process. This hands-on role will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the distilling industry and the daily operations of a working distillery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the production and distillation process, including the preparation of ingredients, operation of equipment, and monitoring of cooking and distillation stages.
- Participate in quality control activities, including testing and sampling products to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Support the maintenance and cleaning of distillery equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Collaborate with team members on various projects, including research and development of new products and techniques.
- Document processes and maintain accurate records of production activities.
- Lead tours of JBBI through the distillery.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Available to be onsite at JBBI distillery
Strong interest in distillation and spirit production.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Previous experience in a laboratory or production setting is a plus but not required.
