Volunteer Engagement Specialist

Posting Description

Help create life-changing global volunteer experiences that build homes, communities, and hope.

At Habitat for Humanity International, we believe everyone deserves a decent place to live. As a Volunteer Engagement Specialist, you will play a critical role in bringing that mission to life—connecting passionate volunteers from around the world to meaningful, hands-on experiences through our Global Village program.

In this role, you won’t just coordinate trips—you’ll shape transformative experiences that deepen commitment to Habitat’s mission while supporting communities across the globe.

Every volunteer experience you support helps build more than homes—it builds understanding, connection, and lasting impact. You’ll be the bridge between global teams, volunteer leaders, and partner organizations, ensuring each experience is smooth, meaningful, and aligned with Habitat’s mission.

In this remote role based in the US, you’ll lead and support the end-to-end volunteer journey, including:
* Partner globally: Serve as the primary point of contact for international Habitat teams and volunteer trip leaders to ensure successful program delivery
* Build relationships: Manage and grow partnerships with corporate groups, universities, and affiliated organizations
* Guide the experience: Support volunteers from inquiry through post-trip follow-up—providing coaching, training, and ongoing communication
* Coordinate logistics: Oversee trip planning details including itineraries, budgets, and resources
* Ensure operational excellence: Partner with finance and internal teams to manage funding, reporting, and program processes
* Drive improvement: Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance volunteer programs, tools, and offerings

You’ll join a collaborative, mission-driven team that works across cultures and geographies to deliver impactful experiences. This is a role where you can:
* Work globally and build cross-cultural relationships
* See the direct impact of your work on communities and volunteers
* Contribute ideas and improvements to evolving programs
* Balance independent work with strong team collaboration

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
* 3 plus years of related experience in program, volunteer or project management
* Experience in volunteer programs, project or program management within a global context
* A passion for building relationships and delivering high-quality experiences
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience with logistics, budgeting, and/or travel coordination
* A proactive, customer-focused mindset
* Comfort working across cultures and with diverse stakeholders
* Active support of Habitat values
- Humility - We are part of something bigger than ourselves
- Courage - We do what's right, even when it is difficult or unpopular
- Accountability - We take personal responsibility for Habitat's mission
