Additionally, the engineer will specialize in the design and review of transmission line foundations—including drilled concrete shafts, direct embedment, micro-piles, and grillage foundations.<h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Ensures technical issues and problems are resolved in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner utilizing available resources</li><li>Supervises, leads, and coordinates work with full time and contract employees in the execution of new technical strategies, equipment or standards</li><li>Conducts life cycle assessments for utility infrastructure materials and processes; improves preventive maintenance procedures to decrease overall downtime</li><li>Conducts risk assessments and implements risk mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and reliability of engineering projects</li><li>Supports audits and inspections; ensures compliance with relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations</li><li>Provides engineering and technical expertise and guidance for the identification, analysis and resolution of high impact, complex and/or cross-functional problems in engineering</li><li>Ensures the engineering facility design basis is controlled and design basis documentation is maintained</li><li>Conducts engineering and related studies with full technical responsibility for planning and coordinating high-impact complex projects</li><li>Provides support and technical training to junior engineering levels</li><li>Develops and/or reviews high impact or complex engineering documents in the civil, structural, geotechincal or geologic diciplines and stamps and approves them as appropriate for their applicable discipline</li><li>A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity</li></ul><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.</li><li>Five or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.</li><li>Posses a valid Class C Driver's License.</li><li>Possess at least one of the following California professional licenses: Civil Professional Engineer (Civil PE), Structural Engineer (SE), Geotechnical Engineer (GE), or Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG)</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Perform Transmission line structural Load calculations based on NESC, California General Order 95, or other applicable codes and resources. </li><li>Act as a subject matter expert in PLS Tower analysis and/or modeling of existing and new lattice tower structures following ASCE and SCE standard and specifications.</li><li>Experience in design or review of new or existing Transmission line foundations (Drilled concrete shaft, direct embed, Micro pile and Grillage) using FAD Tools, hand calcs or similar programs.</li><li>Able to Review transmission line structural drawings; data interface with suppliers, other engineering disciplines, detailers, designers.</li><li>Experience in preparing engineering mitigation solutions for damaged Transmission line lattice towers and damaged footings.</li><li>Experience in construction administration efforts including coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related construction issues, support emergency restorations (wildfire, storm and other incidents) and field inspections.</li><li>PLS CADD knowledge and experience.</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>This position’s work mode is&nbsp;hybrid.&nbsp;The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
