The department oversees statewide strategies to address human and civil rights inequities within Indiana with emphasis on racial and social justice. The department coordinates political action including the development of state, regional and local coalitions focused on issues of common concern including school referendums, school board elections, state legislative and other state-level offices, and statewide issues. The Investment Analyst will also drive strategic engagement between American Express and its portfolio companies.Responsibilities<ul><li>Engage across the full lifecycle of venture investing, including sourcing, evaluating, transacting, and managing investments</li><li>Conduct market and industry analysis to support investment thesis development around strategic focus areas</li><li>Build strong relationships with the venture capital and startup ecosystem to proactively identify and qualify relevant companies</li><li>Evaluate business cases and assess investment opportunities from a strategic, operational and financial perspective</li><li>Provide key analysis and support for transactions, working closely with internal and external partners to execute investments</li><li>Manage due diligence and investment decision-making process including preparation of investment memos, financial modeling and analysis, oversight of legal negotiations, and management of deal execution workstreams</li><li>Monitor portfolio company performance on an ongoing basis, working with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic partnership value</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>2+ years previous professional experience in a finance, strategy, or tech role; examples may include VC or PE investing, investment banking, management consulting, or a high-impact role at a technology company (product management, business operations, strategic finance, etc.)</li><li>Ability to operate autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment</li><li>Well-developed strategic thinking capabilities to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations on a first-principles basis</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of driving effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders</li><li>Analytical mindset and deep understanding of finance and valuation fundamentals</li><li>Strong interest in enterprise software and motivation to engage with the startup ecosystem</li><li>Bachelor’s degree required</li></ul>Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
