Job Duties

<li>Manages a caseload of students on academic probation, providing structured coaching and support through the Saluqi Success Pathway Program.</li>

<li>Conducts proactive outreach via phone, email, and in-person meetings to encourage participation in coaching sessions, Saluqi Success Workshops, and tutoring services.</li>
<li>Provides individualized coaching and intervention sessions, focusing on study skills, time management, academic self-advocacy, and resource navigation.</li>
<li>Develops and tracks individualized success plans for students on academic probation.</li>
<li>Leads student success workshops in collaboration with the Academic Support Center, Career Services, and Student Advocacy and Support.</li>
<li>Collaborates with Academic Deans, CAC Managers, Financial Aid Specialists, and Career Specialists as part of the CAC Model.</li>

This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) term appointment faculty position reporting to the Department Chair of Technologies. Teaching responsibilities will include foundational and advanced AI topics such as Python programming, data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence tools and frameworks, neural networks, and ethical considerations in AI. The faculty member will also play a key role in shaping the AI curriculum and integrating hands-on learning experiences into the program. The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, serving on various committees, and participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations.  
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Prepares and delivers lectures to students on topics such as technical mathematics and courses within the Artificial Intelligence Technology AAS program.</li>
<li>Teaches departmental courses during the day (typically four or five days per week), in the evening (usually two nights per week), and occasionally on Saturdays.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' coursework, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom (tutoring), assists in the planning and implementation of the CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) plan at the department and program levels.</li>
<li>Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.</li>
<li>Writes student laboratory exercises and conducts student laboratory sessions for courses taught.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Meets the requirements of a Certified Police Officer, per TCA 38-8-107, including completion or attendance and completion within one year following employment, of a law enforcement academy curriculum approved by the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (P.O.S.T).

<li>Meets the requirements of TCA 38-8-106, Qualifications of Police Officers:</li>
<li>Be at least eighteen (18) years of age</li>
<li>High school graduate or possess equivalency</li>
<li>Not have been convicted of ANY felonies</li>
<li>Not have been released/discharged under any other circumstance than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States</li>
<li>Have their fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation</li>
<li>Must have passed a physical examination by a licensed physician</li>
<li>Must have passed police academy requirement, and psychological examinations</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license</li>
<li>Have a good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation conducted by Department of Police/Public Safety</li>
<li>Must be flexible to work different shifts if and when deemed necessary.</li>

<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

<li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hospitality Management or Dietetics, or Associate's degree in Culinary Arts with a minimum of 5 years work experience in the culinary field.

</li>

Preferred Qualifications
