You’ll also participate in cross-functional teams working on PSPS-related projects and improvement initiatives, including the following:<ul><li>Responsible for the operational execution of PSPS across high fire areas of the SCE service territory.</li><li>Responsible for implementing and directing strategic actions to ensure compliance with PSPS protocols while maintaining electric system integrity and reliability in accordance with applicable reliability and regulatory standards.</li><li>Provide leadership to PSPS operations personnel tasked with monitoring, coordinating, and planning for significant events impacting service to our customers while ensuring continuity of electric service and the seamless transition of operational command.</li><li>Oversee all functional PSPS operations personnel activities to coordinate and implement processes, procedures, continuous improvement actions, and functional interactions resulting in major operational, regulatory, and financial impact on the company.</li></ul>As a&nbsp;Power System Operations Specialist 4, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?<h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Analyzes electric system operating data and makes timely decisions that ensure safe and reliable operation of the company system</li><li>Leads investigations and root cause analyses of equipment failure, major grid failures, and unscheduled outages, developing next-generation solutions and interventions</li><li>Attends project planning meetings to provide operations requirements and ensures that all operating requirements are met</li><li>Directs the development of regional outage management programs and provides strategic guidance on preventing wide-area transmission disturbances</li><li>Provides thorough and timely updates to leadership, keeping stakeholders aware of important details</li><li>Resolves technical issues with customer grid interconnections and interfaces with external customers on interconnection requirements</li><li>Develops strategic solutions to complex substation problems, partnering with cross-company teams and utilizing deep operational knowledge to resolve issues</li><li>Researches and implements emerging technologies, driving adoption in order to enhance real-time monitoring</li><li>A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.</li></ul><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Ten or more years of experience in electric system operations. </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related technical discipline.</li><li>Experience with Transmission &amp; Distribution Business Line and SCE policies, practices, procedures, objectives, and strategies.</li><li>Experience with PSPS protocols and procedures.</li><li>NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification.</li><li>Experience with Outage Management System and Energy Management System.</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Cloud Suite applications (SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerBI, etc.).</li></ul>Additional Information&nbsp;This position’s work mode is&nbsp;hybrid.&nbsp;The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.The work mode can be changed based on business needs.·&nbsp; &nbsp;Visit our&nbsp;Candidate Resource&nbsp;page to get meaningful information related to benefits, perks, resources, testing information, hiring process, and more!&nbsp;·&nbsp; &nbsp;The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, CA.&nbsp; However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Pomona, CA.·&nbsp; &nbsp;Qualified applicantions with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.·&nbsp; &nbsp;Position may require up to 40% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.&nbsp;·&nbsp; &nbsp;This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.&nbsp; Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.·&nbsp; &nbsp;Relocation may apply to this position.About Southern California EdisonThe people at SCE don't just keep the lights on.
