In this position you will work 5 days a week covering any of the following shifts, including rotation weekends and holidays:<ul><li>7:00a-3:30p</li><li>7:30-4:00p</li><li>11:30a-8:00p</li><li>2:30p-11:00p</li><li>11:00p-7:00a</li></ul>Job Summary<ul><li>The Clerical Specialist – PBX/Telecom is responsible for operating the hospital’s switchboard, paging and radio systems, and alarm monitoring systems</li><li>This role serves as a vital communications hub for internal departments, emergency response teams, and the public, ensuring timely, professional handling of all telephone and emergency alerts</li><li>The position also provides after-hours receptionist support, visitor management assistance, and enforces facility communication policies</li></ul>Essential Functions<ul><li>Answers, screens, and transfers internal and external telephone calls promptly and courteously</li><li>Performs overhead paging and emergency code announcements according to protocol</li><li>Monitors and responds to facility emergency, security, and maintenance alarms</li><li>Operates hospital paging systems and radio communications equipment</li><li>Notifies appropriate on-call staff for surgery, cath lab, endoscopy, and other service lines</li><li>Enforces hospital visitation policies and assists with visitor inquiries after hours</li><li>Performs clerical tasks such as filing, copying, stocking supplies, and data entry</li><li>Documents key events and responses during emergencies for internal reporting</li><li>Maintains a calm, professional demeanor while managing high call volumes and emergency communications</li></ul>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations<ul><li>Strong communication and customer service skills</li><li>Ability to remain composed and effective in emergency situations</li><li>Proficient in the use of multi-line phone systems and paging equipment</li><li>Basic computer skills and familiarity with clerical procedures</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information appropriately</li><li>Demonstrates critical thinking, independent judgment, and attention to detail</li><li>Must be able to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and finger motions</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li></ul> QualificationsEducation<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>1+ year of experience of professional customer service</li><li>Experience operating a switchboard, call center system, or related telecommunications function preferred</li></ul>At ScionHealth, we empower our caregivers to do what they do best.
