Financial Aid Program Administration (30%)

<li>Administer and maintain compliance for assigned federal or state financial aid programs, including but not limited to Federal Work-Study (FWS) and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG).</li>
<li>Serve as the primary institutional liaison with the state financial aid service center to address and resolve processing issues.</li>
<li>Manage institutional and Foundation scholarship programs, ensuring accurate award processing and adherence to eligibility criteria.</li>

<li>Review and verify student-submitted documentation in compliance with federal regulations to ensure the accuracy of Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) data.</li>
<li>Exercise professional judgment in evaluating extenuating circumstances and processing dependency override requests in accordance with federal guidelines.</li>

JOB SUMMARY
The Head Women’s Softball Coach/Fitness Room Coordinator is responsible for administration of all aspects of the intercollegiate women’s Softball program. In addition, this position has responsibility for coordinating Fitness Room operations for the college’s Intercollegiate Athletics facility. The Coach/Coordinator is expected to work in cooperation with staff across the Athletics Department, other Student Services units, other areas of the college, high school personnel, and personnel from other colleges to develop and maintain a high quality intercollegiate women’s Softball program, offering an excellent experience to participating student-athletes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.</li>
<li>Minimum of four years of coaching experience in women's softball at the high school or collegiate level, either as a head coach or assistant coach.</li>
<li>Ability to recruit student athletes and create an atmosphere conducive to student success in academics, personal development, and athletics.</li>

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
WOMEN’S SOFTBALL (70%)
<ul>
<li>Provide leadership for and administer all aspects of the intercollegiate Women’s Softball program for 20-25 participants, including recruitment of student-athletes, budget development and management, maintenance and inventory of equipment, travel and transportation planning, and scheduling of practices and competitions.</li>
<li>Instruct student-athletes in individual skills, tactics/strategy, rules, and fundamentals of women’s Softball at the intercollegiate level.</li>
<li>Teach student-athletes’ principles and practices in health, fitness, and conditioning associated with successful participation in intercollegiate women’s Softball.</li>
<li>Operate program in compliance with institutional, Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA), and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules.</li>
<li>Counsel and advise student-athletes in academic matters, including academic planning, course selection, and student success strategies.</li>
<li>Coordinate efforts to assist student-athletes in transferring to four-year colleges and universities.</li>
<li>Track and monitor academic progress of student-athletes to ensure academic success, retention, and completion.</li>
<li>Participate in fundraising, public relations, and promotional activities for the athletic department and the women’s Softball program.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li>

General Function:&nbsp;
Provide high quality effective instruction in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Facilitate student learning, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned classes, using each course's standard course outline as a guide;&nbsp;Advise and mentor students about academic and career goals
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or instructional Technology with two of the following:

<li>Professional certifications</li>
<li>Two years professional employment</li>
<li>Teaching excellence awards</li>
<li>Research or publications</li>
<li>Relevant additional coursework beyond Bachelor’s degree</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Master’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or instructional Technology with two of the following:
<ul>
<li>Professional certifications</li>
<li>Two years professional employment</li>
<li>Teaching excellence awards</li>
<li>Research or publications</li>
<li>Three years of Community College teaching experience</li>
<li>Ability to teach in an additional MSCC teaching field.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools as assigned; Travel to multiple campuses as assigned</li>
<li>Provide academic advisement and mentoring to students about academic and career goals</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, curriculum chair, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, administration and staff to support the students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; Work collegially as part of both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline including scholarship, creative research, disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities that focus on the boundaries of knowledge, community-based scholarship, creative activities, and the development of cutting-edge teaching approaches</li>
<li>Support curricular and co-curricular activities within the college; Participate in graduation exercises</li>
<li>Teach a 15-hour load per semester; summers are voluntary, but not guaranteed</li>
<li>Post and maintain office hours which provide adequate time for academic advisement with students; out-of-class meetings with students and colleagues; and faculty, division, and departmental meetings</li>
<li>Respond promptly to the Dean’s requests</li>
<li>Submit all requested paperwork timely and completely</li>
<li>Serve on college committees</li>
<li>Perform all duties in accordance with both TBR and MSCC policies</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.</li>
<li>Strong computer skills, to include college database (Banner) management, word processing, creating spreadsheets, e-mail, and the internet</li>
<li>Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with students, fellow employees, college administrators, and other stakeholders</li>
</ul>
