Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The Stockton University School of Health Sciences enrolls ~1700 students across programs that include undergraduate level Exercise Science, Health Science, Nursing, Public Health and graduate level Communication Sciences and Disorders, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Public Health. The school benefits from strong clinical partnerships with local healthcare providers including AtlantiCare, a health system with a main campus hospital located on University property, two federally qualified healthcare centers, and an Atlantic City campus adjacent to the University campus in Atlantic City.
The Dean of the School of Health Sciences will have a general charge to support and advance the continued excellence of the School. Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is expected to provide dynamic vision, develop strategic initiatives, and lead long-term planning and policy development for the School in support of both the School and University's missions, congruent with the University’s new Strategic Plan. The Dean will provide transparent and authentic leadership, rooted in a deep and abiding appreciation for lifelong learning and a desire to serve students. The Dean will provide direction and guidance for academic curricula that support high-quality academic programs and prioritize student academic success. The Dean is responsible for the recruitment, development, support, and evaluation of faculty and staff, and they will also work to increase enrollment in undergraduate and graduate programs. The Dean is the School’s primary representative and engages with external stakeholders to build new relationships and enhance existing partnerships while building visibility, reputation, and fundraising support. The Dean serves as a member of the Dean’s Council and the Provost’s Academic Affairs Council. The Dean’s office includes an Assistant Dean and administrative staff. Job Responsibilities:

<li>Providing administrative and academic oversight of the academic and operational programs of the School of Health Sciences including:

<li>Planning, implementation and managerial leadership appropriate with the University mission, policies, procedures and all applicable statutes and regulations</li>
<li>Planning, developing, implementing, assessing curricula, courses and instructional methods including the supervision of faculty workload and other contractually and appropriate professional responsibilities</li>
<li>Developing and administering all School of Health Sciences budgets in accordance with all appropriate University policies, procedures and legal requirements</li>

<li>Reviewing and evaluating faculty and staff who report directly or indirectly to the Dean, making recommendations, where needed, for performance improvement; setting standards for consideration for reappointment, tenure, and promotion following University guidelines; supporting faculty submissions for external grants, assisting in the development of budgets, and reviewing proposals to be submitted</li>
<li>Managing the personnel evaluation process and providing independent recommendations to the Provost on all personnel matters. Requesting new and replacement faculty and staff positions as well as overseeing the search and hiring of individuals for such positions including the nomination of candidates</li>
<li>Providing direction, recommendations, and administrative support for the development of new academic programs. Overseeing course offerings and schedules of Health Sciences programs to ensure that the academic programs can serve the maximum number of students possible</li>
<li>Mediating student questions and concerns as they relate to Health Sciences academic programs and faculty; administration of certifications, appeals and student grievances at the school level</li>
<li>Collaborate with program faculty to develop and maintain information on learning outcomes and other measures of program performance. Conducting appropriate assessments of academic programs and other aspects of the school’s operation commensurate with regional and program accreditation expectations and implementing changes for continuous improvement</li>
<li>Planning the near term (1-2 year) and long term (3-5 year) academic direction of the School of Health Sciences, including overseeing the appropriate budget requests, growing enrollment and developing the needed facility requests required to deliver academic programs</li>
<li>Representing the School and the University, as appropriate, with external agencies and offices, and overseeing community and public relations for the School</li>
<li>Working in cooperation with the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs to seek alternate sources of revenue and to foster relationships with current and potential donors through both corporate and personal philanthropy</li>
<li>Developing successful mutually beneficial partnerships with local hospitals, healthcare providers and/or healthcare systems</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Terminal degree in a discipline of the health sciences</li>
<li>A minimum of 3 years prior experience as a Dean, Associate or Assistant Dean for a College or School related to the Health Sciences</li>
<li>Record of scholarly/creative activity and service meriting an appointment as a full professor with tenure (by the time first eligible)</li>
<li>Experience with healthcare-related accreditation processes</li>
<li>Experience with program specific development of partnerships with healthcare providers, healthcare systems, and/or global partnerships</li>
</ul>

The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Job Responsibilities: 
1. Providing administrative and academic oversight of the academic and operational programs of the School of Business, including:
<ul>
<li>Providing leadership that aligns with the University mission, policies, procedures and all applicable statutes and regulations</li>

<li>Developing and administering the School of Business budgets in accordance with all appropriate University policies, procedures, and legal requirements</li>

<li>Representing the School and University, as appropriate, with external agencies, offices, and advisory boards, and overseeing community and public relations for the School of Business</li>
<li>Providing oversight to the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in a manner that supports their individual missions and integration with University educational and extra-curricular activities and supports their fiscal health within the constraints of the resources available to them</li>
<li>Developing and executing strategies to expand international student enrollment and foster global academic partnerships</li>

3. Managing personnel evaluation processes, including:

<li>Providing recommendations to the Provost on all personnel matters consistent with collective bargaining agreements</li>
<li>Reviewing and evaluating staff who report directly and indirectly to the Dean, and making recommendations for advancement and, where needed, for performance improvement</li>
<li>Reviewing and evaluating faculty, and making recommendations for reappointment, tenure, and promotion in accordance with University, School, and Program guidelines</li>
<li>Requesting new and replacement faculty and staff positions, as well as overseeing the search and hiring of individuals for such positions, including the nomination of candidates</li>

Required Qualifications:

<li>Terminal degree in business or closely related field</li>
<li>Record of scholarly/activity and service meriting an appointment as full professor with tenure (by the time first eligible)</li>
