The Dispatch Coordinator position is responsible for Driver dispatch operations in the Transportation Department. Benefits you can count on: <ul><li>Pay rate: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. </li><li>Sunday-Thursday 6pm-3am</li><li>Generous benefits that start on your 60th day: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA and company-paid life insurance.</li><li>Earn vacation time, and sick leave accrual from day one and paid holidays after 90 days.</li><li>401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.</li><li>Additional benefits: pet insurance, parental leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!</li></ul> What you'll do as a Dispatch Coordinator: <ul><li>Prepare daily records and memos and maintain filing system for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.</li><li>Complete transportation pouches including route manifests, invoices, special customer notifications, maps and stores keys for drivers.</li><li>Develop and update driver and helper dispatch schedule daily.</li><li>Understand DOT hours of service and ensure driver compliance.</li><li>Set up daily tractor/trailer assignment for drivers.</li><li>Verify roadworthiness and keep maintenance records for tractors and trailers.</li><li>Call customers to inform them of variances in delivery times.</li><li>Expedite driver manifests and highlight keys.</li><li>Provide timely reports to immediate supervisor as requested.</li><li>Possess very strong interpersonal skills and be able to discuss dispatch issues with Driver Specialists, Customers and managers.</li><li>Meet this position's physical demands.</li><li>Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul> Qualifications you'll bring as a Dispatch Coordinator Teammate: <ul><li>High School Diploma.</li><li>Knowledge of mainframe computer software (PeopleSoft) relating to record keeping/scheduling for drivers and helpers.</li><li>Preferred experience in Windows environment and on Excel, Microsoft Word, and Access programs; or similarprograms.</li><li>Have 2 years in similar function (preferred).</li><li>Map reading abilities.</li><li>Understanding of distribution systems.</li><li>Ability to communicate in various methods with different levels.</li><li>Mathematical ability for maintaining schedules.</li><li>Understanding of dispatch issues and procedures. </li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the daily administrative functions in the Transportation department. They ensure that drivers are aware of any changes that may or will occur and provide route change information to customers as needed. Special projects may be assigned at the position supervisor's discretion. </li></ul> Qualifications you'll bring as a Transportation Coordinator Teammate: <ul><li>Have a high school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>At least 2 years of work experience in a similar function is preferred. </li><li>Have good computer skills, including Microsoft products. </li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
