Assistant Professor, SLP

Summary:<ul><li>Reporting directly to, and working closely with the Program Director, PA is responsible for maintaining clinical sites, student placements and contractual agreements and assisting the Manager, Clinical Relations with securing new clinical affiliations for the Physician Assistant program.</li><li>Provides support for clinical teaching faculty; serves as a facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.</li><li>Supports faculty and students assigned to clinical sites, makes phone or on site visits, mediates conflicts, records attendance, and supports clinical affiliations to ensure that the affiliations are sufficient in number to meet PA program requirements.</li><li>Remains current in applicable program field, participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions.</li><li>Participates in campus activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.</li></ul>Essential Functions and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Is responsible for developing and maintaining student clinical placements with identified facilities. Manager, Clinical Education PA

The Clinical Educator evaluates and contributes to oversight of&nbsp; student performance during onsite immersions, plays a critical role in modeling and shaping the clinical skills of students, and is responsible for providing hands-on supervision of clinical skill development and support&nbsp; during onsite immersions. The Clinical Educator&nbsp; plays a vital role to ensure students are developing competency in treatment planning, clinical documentation, professional communication, and demonstration of ethical standards while practicing and demonstrating skills. In this role, the clinical educator will provide quality feedback helping students hone their clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities as they develop clinical skills. <ul><li>In this role, the Clinical Educator ensures clinical competencies by way of:</li><li>Interactive Workshops: Clinical Educators lead hands-on workshops where students&nbsp; practice new techniques and tools in speech-language pathology. This could include but is not limited to the use of simulation technology or role-playing scenarios.</li><li>Discipline Experts: The Clinical Educators are experienced professionals and experts in the SLP field.
