
2nd Shift Machining Tech VI, Set-up Operator
Responsibilities
General Summary:
With minimum supervision and assistance from lead, sets up and operates several secondary machining operations such as; traub, crimp, dimple, swage, multi-press tap, and fillet roll etc, to produce precision metal products.
Specific Responsibilities:
With minimum assistance from lead, the operator will perform all standard set-up within standard time on router; operating, trouble shooting and machine service work as required
Adjusts machine parts, tooling , including sharpening tools on surface or pedestal grinders
Responsible for producing and maintaining high level quality parts per print specification
Work with various types of materials such as Titanium, Inconel, 4130, 17-4, A-286, Aluminum and other stainless steel
Perform first piece verification process per part print as required
Perform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO)
Run multiple machines as required while maintaining high quality parts, efficiency and productivity per standard time on router
Must be familiar with program editing as required
Perform Preventative Maintenance sheet daily
Takes initiative to perform daily 5s in assigned area and machinery
Active involvement in Autonomous Maintenance and process improvements initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned to meet facility goals
Follow all EHS Policies, Procedures and reports all incidents immediately
Experience and Background:
- 10+ suggested years of total experience
Be willing and able to cross train other operators
Be familiar with the Daily Management board and cover topics as required
Be familiar with Human Performance tasks
Have excellent troubleshooting skills
Create own layout from part print and determine RPM and cycle times
Must participate in assisting and training operators
Run multiple machines
Support dept. goals
Monitor production/quality in the dept.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ suggested years of total experience
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
