
2nd Shift - Press Machine Operator
Responsibilities
Salary: $20/hr.-$25/hr.
Position Overview:
The Progressive Die Press Machine Operator is responsible for setting up,operating, and maintaining progressive die stamping presses to producehigh-quality parts according to specifications and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
' Operates Komatsu and Maypresses toproduce machined parts according to blueprints, router package specificationsand/or special instructions.
' Understands and uses drawings, manuals,and work instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances of finishedwork-piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
' Starts and observes on-going machineoperation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjustsmachine controls or control media as required.
' Verifies conformance of finishedwork-piece to specifications.
' Prepares and verifies productionmachine operations on trial run to ensure accuracy of machine settings.
' Selects tooling and fixtures pertainingto the production operation of various types of machines.
' Checks tooling and replaces as neededto keep machine running.
' Inspects parts for quality andappropriate tolerance using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, andcomparators.
' Works within established feed and speedcombinations.
' Records the piece count and run time ofthe production times.
' Verify dimensions and alignment ofassembly.
' Checks parts for conformance tospecifications using micrometers, calipers and gauges and perform SPC
Recognizes and remedies minormachine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools. Major discrepancies arereported to lead or supervisor.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
' High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
' Working experience of manufacturing environment.
A minimum of 0-3 years related industrial machine shopexperience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
