Job Summary
Somerset Community College invites applications for an Academic Advisor II - Admissions Counselor position.
Job Duties:
• Manage an assigned recruitment territory, including visiting high schools, attending community events and programming, and building relationships with various stakeholders;
• Guide students through admissions process by providing personalized support via phone, email, text, and in-person meetings;
• Provide prospective students with info (programs, financial aid, student resources, etc.)
• Support students with FAFSA completion and understanding, and scholarship applications and opportunities;
• Assist with ordering transcripts (HS, College, GED, AP) and completing the admissions process;
• Assist with setting up User Accounts prior to enrollment;
• Support student enrollment by scheduling appointments for Advising;
• Maintain accurate student records and track recruitment activities using CRM tools and resources;
• Conduct individual and group campus tours by delivering personalized and engaging presentations to diverse audiences explaining the value, fit, and opportunity of the institution;
• Recruit students at on and off campus events;
• Attend college fairs;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two years of related experience or equivalent. Education and relevant work experience may substitute for each other on a year for year basis to meet minimum requirements.
