Job Summary

Advises students on academic matters, such as course selection and degree requirements, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality to assist students in reaching academic, personal, and professional success.

Job Duties:

• Receives, processes and responds to academic inquiries according to established policies and procedures.
• Serves as a main point of contact for students providing basic organizational information about educational options, academic requirements and institutional resources and addressing their needs.
• Counsels’ students in identifying and assessing their interests, skills and values to match appropriate fields of study and career options and refers students to appropriate institutional resources.
• Serves as the college’s primary Transfer counselor and works with students to develop transfer plans.
• Partners with four-year universities and colleges to promote transfer and to coordinate transfer agreements.
• Promotes transfer throughout the college and community.
• Provides academic advising assistance in the Enrollment Center to new and returning students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (related field), and 1-2 years related experience, or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
