Full Time

Hours - approximate 10 hours per week during school year, Monday through Friday 3-4:45pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Student support: Provide individualized support to students, helping them navigate academic challenges, complete assignments and provide academic support.
2. Academic case management: In combination with educational alliance, develop and implement action plans for students to maintain their academics while participating in substance use treatment.
3. Monitoring and follow-up: Track students’ progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
4. Collaboration: Work with home school faculty, staff and external partners to coordinate academic services and support for students.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student interactions and case management activities.
6. Maintain personal knowledgebase on collegiate career outlooks.
7. Ensure all documentation is up to date and complies with regulations and follows Caron policies.

1. Must be able to present to audiences in large and small group settings, which may require long periods of time and be of multiple presentations
2. May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Some college experience in the field of education.
2. Experience: Previous experience in academic case management, academic advising or a related field. Experience working in behavioral health industry is preferred.
3. Skills: Strong communication skills, organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. If in recovery, 1 to 2 years of continued sobriety preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Experience with online learning platforms such as Google Classroom, Schoology, Canvas etc.
2. Understanding of Pennsylvania’s core standards (PA Common Core State standards as well as the National Common Core).
3. The ability to handle crisis situations calmly and with a professional demeanor.
4. Must endorse Caron’s philosophy that chemical dependency is a primary disease process.
5. Understands the emotional and behavioral effects of addiction.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability to interact with a variety of people and build relationships both internal and external to the organization.
