Job Description:
The Role
As an Accounting Support Analyst, you will be a key member of the Fidelity Investments Life Insurance (FILI) accounting team responsible for supporting FILI’s accounting & reporting activities. You will have responsibilities that support month-end close, quarterly reporting, and year end activities.
Coordinate the business-critical daily separate account trade wires, ensuring their completion by early to mid-morning.
Prepare daily cash reconciliations and initiate disbursement wires for settlement of investment trades and other payments.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for financial close and support quarterly/annual regulatory filings and annual financial statement reporting
Support regulatory state filings and premium taxes.
Initiate payments for various vendor invoices
Support the withholding tax process, including payments and monthly reconciliations.
Streamline processes and enhance controls to develop improved reporting of results.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Accounting degree is preferred but not required; relevant accounting experience is essential.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and strong organizational skills.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
Self-starter with a sense of ownership who has the initiative to proactively identify and resolve issues and know when to seek clarification or assistance.
Eagerness to learn and advance your skills.
