Job Summary

The Accredited Certification Coordinator facilitates the statewide accredited certification program for firefighters across the state. The coordinator develops and maintains all related certification policies and procedures and develops and delivers certification cognitive and practical skills exams. The coordinator will continuously work with SFRT district offices to deliver consistent and high-quality certification testing.

Job Duties:

• Oversee the statewide administration of accredited certification testing.
• Maintain current certification levels and oversee the implementation of new certification levels.
• Schedule practical skills testing sessions and assign personnel to serve as evaluators.
• Serve as the liaison to the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or equivalent.
• Attend staff meetings and conferences in the Commonwealth to promote the accredited certification program.
• Participate in IFSAC or equivalent reaccreditation site visits internationally.
• Train Fire Commission/SFRT personnel to remain current with testing policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree or equivalent.
5 years' experience
Kentucky Accredited Certification Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Level II (or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:

Fire Officer Accredited Certifications
EMT or Paramedic
