As a PT Admin Support within Jenkins Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being. The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals. A maximum of 30-minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.
Job Responsibilities
Registration of patients into medical system.
Verification of various medical insurance to include Medicaid, Medicare, UHC, Ambetter, Humana, etc.
Prepare presumptive pregnancy Medicaid for expectant mother.
Scan documents associated to patient's visit into their VHN account.
Answer phone calls and triage to appropriate department.
Purge medical records during down time.
Collect copays and other fees associated with patient visit.
Complete deposit for bank and reconcile cash box.
Performs other duties as needed depending on patient flow and workload of the facility.
Handle environmental health requests.
Provide vital records services, including filing and printing death and/or birth records.
Will be expected to learn registration as well as the checkout procedures so that employee will be cross
trained in all areas in an effort to have adequate coverage at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and two years of general office or administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Good customer service skills are a must.
Must be able to be a team player.
Previous experience in a business office setting, preferably a medical facility or doctor's office. Experience handling money, collecting payments and doing refunds, medical billing and/or insurance verification is a plus.
