- Assist the two Program Directors with all aspects of the program from application through graduation, including certifying students for graduation; managing accurate degree audits, helping coordinate registration and advising, course overrides; acting as a liaison with the Ellis Center and the Registrar, and other offices as needed.
- Provide administrative support to faculty, students and student clubs, including helping with grant applications, gathering program statistics and general recordkeeping; helping schedule and plan events; ordering office supplies; keeping the office and utility room orderly; and serving as back-up to communicate with building manager about necessary maintenance.
- Handle inquiries via phone, email, and office contact throughout the day.
- Participate in program meetings, including taking the minutes.
- Oversee the programs’ websites, making necessary adjustments on a regular basis as well as assisting with more significant updates as required by the implementation of new policies or program requirements.
- Serve as a liaison with other academic programs across the University.
- Manage social media networks to assure an active presence on all platforms used by the programs to communicate.
Minimum Qualifications:Formal Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- The individual must understand the importance of inclusive education with a desire to work with students, faculty, and staff of varying backgrounds and social identities. General familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat) and software such as Concur. Proficiency in tech applications for helping design and update websites and creating networking feeds on social media.
- Minimum of 2-3 years related work or internship experience required.
- Expertise in MS Office suite required
- Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to plan, and manage projects and public-facing events; Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students; ability to work collaboratively as a team member; ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently in a visible, fast-paced office environment with numerous interruptions.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting standard office equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Event planning experience preferred; graphic design and social media proficiency preferred but not required.
