Job Description

As an Administrative Associate in the Psych Intervention Program 105 department, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursing unit and contributing to the overall success of the program. Your responsibilities will include general office duties, patient registration and admission, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will work collaboratively with the care team, utilizing your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional support and assistance to team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general office duties and administrative tasks to support the nursing unit and departmental activities.
  • Register and admit patients by accurately entering demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date medical records, ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Assist the care team in meeting patient needs and supporting team objectives.
  • Collaborate with other team members, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, prioritize tasks, and use sound judgment in challenging situations.
  • Ensure familiarity with institutional policies and procedures, especially in healthcare settings.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance processing for efficient operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the care unit leadership or department manager.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with the ability to read, speak, and write English fluently.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification by 10/31/25 for existing employees, and new employees have 1 year from the hire or transfer date.
  • Six to nine months of healthcare experience, preferably in an office or clerical role, to ensure familiarity with medical settings.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse team members.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred at the time of hire, with training provided for incumbents.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive patient information.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications.
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions, including lifting up to 30 pounds frequently and 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
