What You Will Do
- Evaluate student records for completion degree requirements.
- Create and process applications for graduation on Banner, post degrees, inactivate applications and move applications to a different term.
- Notify students, program directors, and advisors of degree deficiencies.
- Order diplomas.
- Explain graduation policies and procedures, handle inquiries and complaints regarding graduation, handle inquiries regarding CAPP (Curriculum, Advising, & Program Planning) and Degree Works evaluations and perform DegreeWorks adjustments.
- Prepare correspondence needed for graduation processing.
- Determine commencement eligibility.
- Maintain graduation statistics, assist with preparation of commencement program, prepare for commencement ceremonies.
- Scan, perform quality assurance review, and link graduation documents using Perceptive Content optical imaging software.
- Communicate policy such as continuous enrollment, time limits, and Graduate School completion deadlines.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
--30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
--60 semester hours or an Associates Degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
--90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
--120 semester hours or a Bachelors degree equals three (3) years (36 months)
--work experience in administrative support, admissions and enrollment, customer service, public relations, records management, or closely related experience.
Working knowledge of Banner 9 information system (student module), CAPP (Curriculum, Advising, & Program Planning) software, Degree Works, Microsoft Office software, Perceptive Content optical imaging software, Argos and E-Print. Working knowledge of Kuali Build and ProQuest. Working knowledge of Diplomatic software. Extensive knowledge of University Academic policies, especially those related to graduation, grading, and academic history. Knowledge of Graduate School policies and deadlines. Detailed knowledge of Registrar's Office policies and procedures, General Education program requirements, and the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI). Working knowledge of major and minor department requirements.Must have good interpersonal communication skills and mathematical skills and the ability to analyze situations as they relate to various academic policies and procedures. Must have excellent data entry skills. Must have the ability to maintain professionalism in various situations, including highly sensitive and/or stressful ones.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
