Admissions Event ManagerUIW MissionPosition SummaryThe Admissions Event Manager is responsible for the development and execution of admissions recruitment events, to include New Student Orientation, Cardinal Preview Day, and other Admissions events which provide information and assistance to students and families about the University. The Admissions Event Manager reports to the Director of the Welcome Center and Campus Experience.Note that this position requires traveling as part of standard duties, approximately 25% of the time. Travel is primarily local.Essential FunctionsJob DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Ability to travel as part of standard duties, approximately 25% of the time.• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and able to deliver desirable work product under tight deadlines.• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills.• Ability to gather and collect data and build reports.• Strong project management, time management, and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook or equivalent. Proficiency in using a CRM. Ability to effectively learn and use UIW technology applications.• Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs.• Consistently reports to work on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives to meetings and appointments on time.• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.Required EducationBachelor's Degree.Required Work Experience• Two (2) years of relevant professional experience working with students in higher education.• One (1) year of professional experience in event coordination/planning of large events.• One (1) year of experience supervising or leading teams in projects or events.Preferred Qualifications• Three (3) years of experience working in higher education setting working with students and families.• Two (2) years of experience supervising or leading teams in projects.Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations• Valid driver license with "Real ID" designation, as required for air travel, or ability to obtain by first day of employment.• Must have a driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.Work HoursMonday through Friday, 8am – 5pm, with some evening and weekend hours required for recruiting events and to meet departmental goals.Physical Demands• Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 20 lbs. of admissions and event materials.• Ability to move about and actively engage with others for an extended period of time during event preparation, execution of event, and post event activities.• Ability to travel by vehicle or plane.
