We are seeking a motivated Advocacy Officer to join our CEE Program Team. In this role you will support the advocacy initiatives, mostly related to EU policy and local implementation, of the housing projects implemented by the HFHI/CEE Program Team.
The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package. The monthly gross pay starts at 1590 EUR (based on previous experience + benefits).
This position is to be based in Bratislava, Slovakia and requires around 10% of travel.
Your main responsibilities would be:
- Drafting policy papers: Follow the EU policy processes related to the HFHI/CEE project portfolio and help develop policy papers related to energy efficiency, energy poverty and affordable housing.
- Research coordination: Coordinate research and policy paper development done by external consultants.
- Project participation & Task Leadership: Working on assigned projects by the Senior Project Manager or Regional Project Team - participating at regular calls and meetings, contributing to projects Work packages and tasks, lead work packages and tasks assigned.
- Content preparation for events: Help prepare the concept and agenda of workshops and conference sessions, help with communication with speakers.
- Networking: Support building relationships with other organizations online and with in-person networking at events.
- Grant proposal & Reporting: Contribute to grant proposal development and project reporting.
- Internal collaboration: Collaborate with a wide group of HFH internal stakeholders including the CEE Program Team members, other Area Office departments, HFH national offices in Europe, Global Advocacy Team, HFHI Brussels Team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, European Studies, Sociology, Economy, Urban Studies or any related field (Master’s degree is preferred)
- 3 years’ experience in policy advocacy, working for the government, research coordination or any related field
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Experience working with NGOs is a plus
- Experience in policy research or any research related field
- Solid understanding of EU policy making
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
