Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a new AgTech Sales Specialist. This pivotal role is responsible for driving sales and adoption of Lindsay Africa’s AgTech solutions, including FieldNET®, VRI, corner systems, and control panels. The role combines sales enablement with technical expertise—ensuring that dealers and farmers understand, adopt, and maximize the value of these digital agriculture technologies. This position plays a key role in growing Lindsay’s precision irrigation footprint across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Position Details

This full-time role is located at our Cape Town, South Africa location and reports directly to the Sr. Manager, AgTech Sales. This role is located on-site, however it does require frequent travel (up to 75%).

Key Performance Areas & Associated Activities

  • Develop, manage, and execute the regional technology penetration strategy, dealer channel initiatives, and customer success efforts.
  • Build trusted relationships with dealers and end users through honesty, integrity, and consultative selling.
  • Proactively identify and engage potential customers through cold calling and strategic outreach.
  • Lead and support the FieldNET & FieldNET Advisor sales process, ensuring strong connections between growers, dealers, and Lindsay.
  • Train dealers and growers on FieldNET solutions, including features, agronomic benefits, placement, software use, and subscription renewals.
  • Provide technical support—remote and in‑field—during growing seasons, including setup, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Analyze market data using Excel and prepare/deliver PowerPoint presentations to support strategy and performance insights.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, submitting weekly sales call updates and tracking customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with product teams, regional managers, and dealers on case studies and overall business success.
  • Demonstrate professionalism under pressure, travel extensively as needed, and work flexible hours beyond the standard workweek.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor degree in Business, Agronomy, Marketing, or an agriculture-related curriculum. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 3+ years of ag technology, agronomy, or mechanized ag-related sales & management experience will be considered in place of a degree.
  • General ag technology sales experience with knowledge of competitive practices, training techniques, and implementation tactics. Experience in Precision Ag, Agronomy, or Irrigation segments preferred.
  • Strong background in agriculture, crops grown within the region, irrigation methods, and farming practices.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and be able to travel overnight. This role requires approximately 75% travel within Southern Africa, with occasional trips to other African countries. Travel demands are seasonal and are primarily concentrated during the non-growing season months in Southern Africa.
  • Strong business acumen, public speaking, decision-making, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Fluency with computers, mobile devices, software, and technical understanding of electronics.
  • Self-motivated and able to develop and manage a distribution channel.
