Description: The AI Engineer will support the International Trade Administration (ITA) Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AICoE) by delivering endtoend artificial intelligence solutions across the full system lifecycle. This role focuses on designing, developing, deploying, optimizing, and integrating AI capabilities within secure, cloudbased federal IT environments. The AI Engineer will work closely with crossfunctional teams in Agile and SAFe environments to deliver scalable, reliable, and compliant AI solutions that support mission objectives.*This position is contingent upon contract award.*Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning models across the full system lifecycle.
• Manage data ingestion, preprocessing, validation, and feature engineering to support model development and deployment.
• Build, deploy, and maintain AI infrastructure, pipelines, and supporting services in secure cloud environments.
• Optimize model performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Automate workflows and integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and platforms.
• Monitor AI models in production environments and implement continuous improvements and enhancements.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, data engineers, and stakeholders within SAFe Agile delivery environments.
• Ensure AI solutions align with federal security, compliance, governance, and ethical AI requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system artifacts, and operational runbooks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must possess and maintain a NACI or higher background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience supporting AI or machine learning solutions.
• Demonstrated experience across the AI system lifecycle, including model development and deployment.
• Proficiency with machine learning frameworks, tools, and programming languages.
• Experience working in Agile or SAFe delivery environments.

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical field.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
• Experience supporting federal or publicsector IT programs.
• Knowledge of AI governance, ethics, security, and responsible AI best practices.
