Howmet Dover Casting is a world-class supplier of complex, investment-cast turbine airfoils and other components for the aircraft engine and industrial gas turbine industries. Howmet Dover Alloy is a world-class supplier of vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical and other high-technology industrial markets.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Airflow Engineer to join our Casting Facility located in Dover, New Jersey.

Anticipated Pay Range: $74k-$90k per year. *Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The airflow engineer is responsible for ensuring that all castings that require airflow inspection meet customers specifications, blueprint allowances and are programmed on airflow test stands.

ENVIORNMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES

Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.

Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.

Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).

Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.

Attend all EHS training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review customer drawings and specifications to determine airflow inspection requirements
  • Program Flow Systems and CCDI Airflow test stands per blueprint requirements
  • Perform troubleshooting on airflow test stand units and fixtures
  • Ensure airflow data is stored properly for engineering, quality and customer review
  • Perform airflow studies as required by customer blueprints and specifications
  • Create master castings for airflow inspection
  • Aid in the design, build and improvements with airflow fixtures
  • Ensure Airflow test stands and fixtures are properly maintained and calibrated
  • Participate in customer and NADCAP audits pertaining to airflow inspection
  • Train and certify production operators as needed
  • Able to meet physical demands of job
  • Work with engineering, quality and manufacturing employees
  • Assist with other engineering and manufacturing functions as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’).
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within a 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
  • Must be able to read and interpret and follow instructions and write and speak English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S degree with knowledge in pneumatics
  • 4 year engineering/technical degree preferred
  • Computer Skills- Knowledge of MS Office, CAD software
  • Relevant airflow and pneumatics experience.
  • Good math and statistical skills
  • Able to work well with people
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude
