Position Summary

The Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist is responsible for all A/P processing functions across the company, including the Central Office and decentralized care center locations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Specialist is expected to perform position-related duties that include, but are not limited to:

  • Review coding of invoices by care centers for consistency across the company and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Verify bills are approved before paying.
  • Confirm that reimbursement forms and credit card bills have appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Post invoices into computer system, research items as needed.
  • Generate checks as necessary and mail payments with required attachments.
  • Filing.
  • Communicate accurate and pertinent information to Proliance physicians, employees, and vendors as necessary.
  • Work with care centers to resolve A/P issues, as necessary.
  • Research vendor statements: work with vendors to reconcile statements/invoices, as necessary.
  • Assist with other projects designated by management.
  • Become subject matter expert in assigned tasks.

Education/Experience

  • One+ years of high volume, full-cycle A/P experience as plus
  • Healthcare industry or multi-site experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience using Excel for compiling, tracking, importing, and validating data.
  • General knowledge of accounting and understanding of general ledger accounts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and professional judgement.
  • Basic data entry; 10-key proficiency.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Experience using AvidXchange or Intacct a plus.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice and Adobe applications preferred.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must maintain an appropriate standard of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision – including remote work.
  • Excellent public relations skills - patient, pleasant, and diplomatic attitude.
  • Willingness and ability to learn unfamiliar tasks and technology solutions.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Highly Organized and collaborative.
