Job Summary: The Assembler will assemble manufactured products and pack according to specifications. Essential Functions:
- Assembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
- Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
- Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.
- Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
- Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Detail-oriented and consistent.
- Works well as a productive member of a team.
- Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
- Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
- Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to obtain an overhead crane permit as part of job requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during the work shift.
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms for grasping, handling, reaching, and assembling components.
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or parts up to 50 pounds (assistance or mechanical aids provided for heavier loads).
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb as job duties require.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle small and large components with precision.
- Capability to operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
- Visual acuity to read blueprints, work instructions, and inspect parts for quality.
- Tolerance for moderate noise, vibration, and occasional exposure to oils, solvents, or other manufacturing materials (with proper PPE provided).
