The Department is looking for a faculty member with expertise in any one of the following areas: Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management, International Management, and Sports Management. The ideal candidate will have industry experience in addition to a graduate degree in Management or a closely related field. Experience in Business/Data Analytics is preferred but not required. The Department seeks an energetic and dedicated educator who can inspire and engage undergraduate students while contributing to the department's research initiatives. Westfield State University is proud to be a teaching university, where faculty are encouraged to develop innovative pedagogy for the classroom. The teaching load is 24 credits each year, typically 12 credits each semester. Candidates are expected to provide excellence in teaching across different modalities including face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes. In addition to the development and teaching of undergraduate courses, faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activity, which can take many different forms. Faculty provide academic advising and other support to students. Opportunities to advise student research are available and encouraged. Faculty are also expected to offer service to the department, university, and community.Job Requirements:Required Qualifications• Ph.D. in Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution (ABD candidates will be considered but must have completed the degree by the time of appointment).• Relevant industry experience as well as the ability to develop linkages with the business community.• A demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and student engagement.• Evidence of an active and productive research agenda, with a record of or potential for publications and presentations in respected outlets.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.• Experience in online teaching and familiarity with educational technologyAdditional Information:Salary:Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies.
