Interested candidates should apply to be considered. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.Essential Functions
  • Oversees and manages Environmental Services, Jag Tran Services, Fleet Services, and Moving Services.
  • Oversees and manages the duties of the Superintendents in Environmental Services.
  • Directs and supervises activities of custodial staff including developing and implementing policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and ensures quality of services.
  • Performs inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Specifies, approves and administers contracts for services as needed.
  • Conducts educational and training programs for custodial employees on safety, security, communications and disaster preparedness.
  • Evaluates and supervises personnel of departments to maintain standards.
  • Conducts research and evaluation methods, procedures, equipment and supplies in order to adequately maintain the standards of the department.
  • Oversees and manages the duties of the Campus Transportation Supervisor.
  • Oversees transit operations and ensures the safety of fixed route transit services, pan-transit services and charter bus services.
  • Oversees transportation needs of the University to include arranging charters or scheduling trips using USA vehicles.
  • Oversees bus scheduling and fleet maintenance systems.
  • Develops short- and long-range transportation plans.
  • Monitors Jag Tran Services and Fleet Services department contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation laws, guidelines and recommendations.
  • Oversees collection of data and usage reports
  • Provides oversight in the maintenance and repair of university vehicles.
  • Prepares bid specifications for contract maintenance and contract parts following University bid procedures.
  • Coordinates and schedules transportation for requesting departments and provides cost estimate options for transportation costs and/or outside charter companies for said department, as needed.
  • Maintains the Jag Tran calendar, log of all transportation requests, and monthly schedule boards, as needed.
  • May drive a 12-56 passenger bus around campus and/or to locations off-campus for maintenance and pre/post trip inspections or a charter bus as needed.
  • Manages and directs the Moving Services department to include scheduling major department moves, collection of surplus property when provided with a complete Property Control Form, and moving equipment and furniture.
  • Enforces strict accountability of safety practices, training, and equipment use.
  • Oversees budget, approved purchases, and ensures compliance with university, state and federal bid laws.
  • Interviews and selects departmental staff.
  • Supervises departmental staff to Include assigning duties, approving time off, preparing evaluations, handling disciplinary issues, and reviewing/approving time sheets.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
