Job Summary
The University of Kentucky (UK) College of Nursing invites applicants to apply for this fulltime, 12-month Clinical Title Series, tenure-ineligible faculty position with the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will also serve as the Director for the Simulation and Learning Center. This position is based in Lexington, KY, onsite, and the anticipated start date for the position is November 1, 2025, but no later than January 1, 2026, with consideration of an earlier start date. This position will remain open until filled and applications will be reviewed as received.
This position will assist in the baccalaureate program, clinical simulation learning center, and the UK clinical enterprise and combines faculty responsibilities in teaching and advising with leadership responsibilities and will serve as the Director of the Clinical Simulation and Learning Center. This assignment will teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate BSN students. It is expected that this role will implement and evaluate didactic and clinical courses, plan and oversee clinical experiences and guide BSN students in their professional development. This position will provide clinical instruction in designated practice areas and engage in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. It requires the development of expertise in the use of interactive and simulated technology, and the ability to collaborate with other faculty and staff in incorporating this technology in nursing education. This position is expected to participate in scholarly activities related to clinical service, simulation, and education.
Collaboration with UK Healthcare and other community clinical providers, administrators and staff is required. The candidate should have experience with advising and successful teaching of adult students, possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. The required education and experience include an earned DNP or PhD in nursing is required. A minimum of 3 years of BSN prepared professional nursing experience within the last 5 years and 1.5 years of simulation experience required. An active Kentucky license as a registered nurse required.
