Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing is seeking a Special Title Series (tenure-eligible) Assistant Professor This position is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of about 25-40% Teaching and Advising, 50-65% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 10% Service/Professional Development which will be reviewed annually. We anticipate a start date of March 1, 2026, but no later than March 15, 2026.

This onsite position is based in Lexington, KY, and has an emphasis on biostatistics and measurement needs in teaching and research. This position requires an individual to provide teaching, advising, research and service for the College and University related to (a) teaching PhD courses with emphasis on quantitative methods, including biostatistics, measurement, and manipulation and analysis of large datasets using methods appropriate for complex survey weights; (b) taking an active role in mentoring graduate students working on pilot projects, dissertations, or manuscripts; © support of scholarship by acting as Co-I or Biostatistician on externally-funded grants, including developing data analysis plans and power estimates; (d) assisting faculty with scholarship, including manuscripts and proposals; and (e) service to the college, university and the discipline of nursing.

Additionally, the individual in this faculty position will attend college and program faculty meetings, serve on college, UK Healthcare and University committees as appropriate and collaborate with faculty on the development of scholarly and research projects, from project statistical design development through data analysis and interpretation. The required education and experience include: an earned PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or a closely related field, with at least three years of professional experience, preferably including post-doctoral training. At least three years of teaching and/or student advising experience is also required, as is expertise in psychometric analysis and analysis methods for large databases with complex survey weights.
