Job Summary

The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing Undergraduate Program is seeking a Clinical Title Series (tenure-ineligible) Assistant Professor specifically for our Medical-Surgical, Population Health, and/or Pathopharmacology courses within our BSN program. This position is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort focused primarily on teaching/advising with effort also allocated for clinical practice activities, research/scholarly activity, and service/professional development. We anticipate a start date of May 1, 2026, but not later than June 1, 2026.

This position, onsite and based in Lexington, KY, will assist and resource the Medical-Surgical, Population Health, and/or Pathopharmacology courses within the undergraduate BSN program in the College of Nursing. This faculty position will provide classroom and online instruction, supervise undergraduate nursing students in clinical settings, advise students, and participate in College of Nursing committees and service activities. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and evaluating didactic and clinical courses; planning and evaluating student clinical experiences; and attending faculty and course meetings.

The role requires engagement in scholarship through dissemination of scholarly work and participation in research or evidence-based practice initiatives. The faculty member will also engage in direct and indirect clinical practice, including serving as a clinical instructor and collaborating with UK HealthCare to advance behavioral and mental health initiatives as part of an interprofessional team.

Candidates must hold a terminal degree (DNP or PhD in nursing), possess an active Kentucky RN license, and have at least two years of full-time (or equivalent) experience as a BSN-prepared nurse within the past five years. Experience and expertise in population health, medical-surgical, and/or pathopharmacology preferred. Applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, along with a clear commitment to teaching, scholarship, clinical practice, and service. The ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats is essential, and prior teaching experience in an accredited BSN program is preferred.
