The successful candidate will be expected to work with collaborators to obtain extramural funding to support their salary and research and be an established research scientist with a solid record of publications in peer reviewed journals.Required License/Registration/CertificationNAJob SummaryThe University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry Department is seeking an Assistant Professor in the Research Title Series with expertise in the field of microbial population interaction, public health and microbiology. This has impacts related to occupational health, antibiotic and disinfectant resistance and horizontal gene transfer in environmental and clinical settings. This will require the use of molecular biology, cell biology, and microbiology models to advance understanding of the cellular pathways controlling microbe proliferation and infection progression. The investigator will conduct a variety of biochemical, cell and molecular biology experimental studies aimed at identifying signals associated with communication between various microbial species in mixed populations.
In addition to the research responsibilities, the investigator will be expected to work with collaborators to obtain extramural funding to support the pertinent research.
