Alvernia University, located in Reading, Pennsylvania, is accepting applications for the part-time position of Assistant Tennis Coach.

The Assistant Tennis Coach is responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Tennis Program, including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes and preparing student-athletes for success through practice planning, strategy development, and skill instruction.

The Assistant Coach will also be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in tracking their student-athletes academic progress, maintaining appropriate records and paperwork, and ensuring compliance with all university, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations. The Assistant Coach will also be responsible for assisting with practice planning and execution, strategy development, film breakdown and review, and coordination of camps and clinics.

A Bachelor’s degree and successful experience as a student-athlete and/or coach is required. A Master’s degree and college coaching experience is strongly desired.

The successful student-centered candidate will display a record of accomplishment “on the field” as well as “off the field” having served as a mentor and coach to successful student-athletes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate and be able to communicate a commitment to the mission and core values, and goals of Alvernia University.
